INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL
The Scholars Academy will use Project Based Learning, Inquiry Learning, Socratic Seminar, and interdisciplinary projects on a regular basis. The most important facet of learning within the Scholars Academy, however, is an intentional, metacognitive focus on critical thinking skills in all subjects and their interconnectivity. The Honors Seminar will provide the foundational elements, and all teachers will be trained to use specific techniques and strategies designed for high school from the Foundation for Critical Thinking. Students will apply the Elements of Thought to major ideas throughout the course.
